Beeche was a good kid and joined the U.S. Marine Corps to become an American citizen, he was from Costa Rica. We served together in Combined Action Company 9 in Loc Son where at age 23 he was fearless. I remember an ambush we were in and surprised an element of the 324B North Vietnamese Division, when the fighting ended all he said was "I should have stayed in Costa Rica and shined shoes". He was killed in action in the spring of 1966.

Dear Rafael Eduardo, I just want to tell you how much I think of you and miss you all the time.

I always wanted to be as strong and free a spirit as you. I talk to my kids and my friends about your courage.

You left a big empty space in our family, all of us are proud of you.

From a first cousin,
