Captain Carl E. Bockewitz, 28 years old, attended Sullivan High School and the University of Missouri. Before graduating from Southwest Missouri State College at Springfield, Missouri, he served a year and a half on the Saint Louis police force. He lived at Bourbon, Missouri, before entering service.
