Watched you exit the first bird that morning - you and George Henry were killed instantly. You didn't have to die but you did. Were we set down on the wrong hill or did Arty prep the wrong hill? Guess we'll never know, but one thing is for sure: You gave your life for your country. You will always live as long as we remember. Miss you, Sonny. |
A Note from The Virtual WallCorporal Brown was aboard UH-1D tail number 66-16743 of A Troop, 7/1 Cavalry, during a combat assault. The aircraft was taken under heavy fire as it entered the Landing Zone. While most of the men aboard the Huey survived with wounds, Corporal Brown and Corporal George Edward Henry were killed by enemy fire. |
