Jerry Brown was a friend of mine. Truly a
wonderful friend. I am honored to
have known him. He was the commander of the Army ROTC drill team
when I was
a member, during our times together at Texas Tech. We
communicated
frequently throughout our times in the Army, both in Germany and
then in
Vietnam.
Jerry was killed in a firefight while an
advisor.
I think of him often, of the friendship, of the "Kool-Aid
Kid" who cared so much.
