Your humor is missed. You could laugh at almost anything. You are missed by all who knew you. I know you will be at the Gate to greet each of your brothers as he appears.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

Four men of C Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, died in the crash of their UH-1B (tail number 62-02063):
  • CW2 Ernest Doom Burns, pilot
  • MAJ Thomas Moody Felton, pilot
  • SGT Ray Gene Davis, crew chief
  • PFC Dewey Renee Butler, gunner
The UH-1B was on a night combat support mission in company with an OH-6A LOACH when the two aircraft collided. Both went down, killing all four on the UH-1B. The three crewmen on OH-6A 67-16601 were seriously injured but were recovered and survived.

A recovery team visited the UH-1B crash site and visually identified all four bodies. The remains were brought back to camp, but Butler's body disappeared before an official positive identification could be made. Animal tracks were found leading away from the area and it was belived that his remains had been carried away. His body was not recovered.
