I met Tommy when we were in Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Ord, California. We hitchhiked from Fort Ord to his home in Orosi to spend the weekend. His family treated me as one of their own. Tommy always liked to have fun. We both went to Fort Benning, him to the 3d of the 7th and I went to the 4th of the 12th. We still managed to get together often. When we were in Vietnam, we saw each other two times before his death. I think of him and his family often. I am still proud to call him "My Friend". Until we meet again, Tommy, you are not forgotten.

Your Friend Always, Manuel
