A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 2/9 Marines Command Chronology for March 1967 contains the following (paraphrased) entry in the Operations Log for 30 March:
"SPOT Report #109: At 0605 10 VC walked into a 3rd Plt, Hotel 2/9, squad ambush. VC fired 50 rounds of small arms. Friendly fired 100 to 150 rounds small arms. 4 VC confirmed killed in action. One Marine wounded in action, emergency medevac. Squad still searching area."
While the Chronology does not identify LCpl Currin by name, this entry reflects the only Hotel 2/9 casualty for 30 March 1967.
