So young, as many were, I always looked up to him. He always watched out for his twin sisters, Debbie and Diane, and was loved by all. All the pretty girls liked him too. He has never been forgotten, and never will be. He had the most beautiful smile, the whitest teeth, and a zest for life. I love you, Billy.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 18 July 1968 elements of D Company, 34th Engineer Battalion, were conducting a road mine clearing mission in Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam. About five miles south of the city of Ben Cat, PFC Earl F Seablom detonated a mine which fragmented his body beyond identification and killed two others immediately; a fourth died shortly thereafter of wounds received. The four men were
  • SP5 Billy L. Cook, Beardstown, IL; died of wounds received
  • PFC William E Beall, Denver, CO; killed in action
  • PFC Manual A Castillo, San Jose, CA; killed in action
  • PFC Earl F Seablom, Ishpeming, MI; killed in action, body not recovered
