Emmit and I were classmates. We served in Viet Nam at the same time. He was a wonderful, quiet, and self-confident person who simply wanted to serve his country and return home to his family. I will forever remember his smile and easy way with people. He could have avoided military service as his family was affluent, but that was not his style. Each time that I return to our small town and pass by his home I remember him with a smile. |
