PFC Kinsey Arthur Davis, 1st Platoon of Bravo Company, was wounded on June 15, 1968 during Operation Allen Brook. After being flown to Memphis, Tennessee, Kinsey died on August 11, 1968, two days after his twentieth birthday. Kinsey left his mother and father, four sisters and eight brothers to mourn him. Kinsey's father passed away in November 1998, and a brother in December 2003. Kinsey was a loving Christian son and brother and was loved by so many. Kinsey is remembered often and is greatly missed by all of us.

A Note from The Virtual WallThe 1/27 Marines' Command Chronology for July 1968 contains the following entry:"At approximately 150330H [3:30 am, 15 June] Company B while in a defensive perimeter at AT997538 received an attack with small arms fire, automatic weapons, and B-40 rockets. The enemy attempted to execute a flank assault and penetrate the perimeter. Primarily because of an excellent defense plan and aggressive execution, the assault was repulsed. Company B suffered only 3 WIAs and inflicted a toll on the enemy of 21 NVA killed, 14 weapons and miscellaneous 782 gear captured in the action."Pfc Kinsey Davis is the only known death from the attack described. |
