I would like to thank you for your service to the Armed Forces of the US. My mom is from Carmel and I visit there very often. I commend you on your ability to leave such a great little town. The Army was instrumental in our fight in Vietnam. I am an Army ROTC cadet at the University of Texas at Austin, and hope one day to achieve in my career what you have. I thank you again for your service and hope that your family realizes what a great individual person you were. Without you and soldiers just like you, we (the US) would not be where we are today.
From a Cadet. |
A Note from The Virtual WallMajor De Amaral and an Air Force officer, Captain John D. Musgrove of the 557th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Cam Ranh Bay, were conducting a recon flight in an OH-13S (tail number 63-09151) when the aircraft was shot down in Binh Dinh Province. Both men died in the crash. |
