1LT Davis was an outstanding high school athlete. He graduated from ROTC at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was very much liked by all whom in came in contact with. One of his dreams was to be an officer in the Army. Johnny will always be remembered for his humor, friendly way and love of country.

Johnny and I were classmates at Arkansas Tech University during the mid-1960's. Although I didn't know him well, we were on the Student Senate and members of Blue Key National Honor Fraternity. I was deeply saddened when I learned of his death in 1969. He was a bright, outgoing, popular guy with a ready smile. I always visit his name whenver I am in D.C. and go to The Wall.
