I remember the day, I was there with you. It all happened so fast. SFC Maxey was really upset, because you were both going on short R&R in a couple of days. The 28th was a bad day for us, and so were the upcoming days to include March 2, 69. We lost a lot of good people in that short time. Just wanted to keep your memory alive, and to let you now that your sacrifice was not in vain and you will not be forgotten. A lot of the old troops are still around, including Cpt Headley, SFC Hollis and Maxey, as well as some of the others. We remember you at each reunion. |
A Note from The Virtual WallB Troop, 3/4th Cavalry, lost two men on 28 Feb 1969, SSG Larry B. Curttright to a rocket-propelled grenade and SFC George F. Evans to gunshot wounds. |
The point-of-contact for this memorial is a fellow trooper, Jack Noble Jackmsg@aol.com 9 Jul 2004 |
