Lloyd was from San Angelo, Texas. He attended schools there. He was drafted and trained as a medic. He died on July 31, 1968 as a result of wounds received from small arms fire. He was 22 years old. He is remembered by the Concho Valley Vietnam Memorial and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial located in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice not be forgotten.

Bill died from wounds on July 31, 1968 that he received on July 21, 1968. At the time of his death, he was two weeks from completing his tour. He was married prior to departing for Vietnam in July 29, 1967 and his first anniversary of his marriage to Lynne Baggett was two days before his death. He is buried in the Fairmont Cemetery in San Angelo. His final resting place supports a joint headstone for his father and for him.
