David Fogg joined 3rd Platoon, Delta 1/7 in December of 1968 where he was a member of 2nd Squad. In May of 1969 he left Delta to become a member of a CAP (Combined Action Program) Platoon located near our home base, Hill 37. On July 5, 1969 while on a squad size patrol his unit became engaged in a firefight with an enemy unit. David was killed in that skirmish. David was a good Marine and a good person and is still missed by all with whom he served.

CAP 2-2-2 That was our motto. CAP teams were not for the timid. Fogg was one of the few Marines who stepped forward.
