A Note from The Virtual Wall

On Christmas Eve, 1966, a midnight Mass was held at the An Khe base camp. During the Mass a deranged soldier entered the makeshift church firing his rifle on full automatic. While one report says four people were killed, the casualty database reflects only two servicemen who died in the incident: PFC George L. Fragua and PFC Raymond J. Metty (625th GS Company) of Buffalo, NY.
