Nick was known as the "Frito Bandito". He was one of the most loved guys in the platoon. He was a good point man and had an unusual sense of humor! You never knew what Nick would do next to liven up the day! Nick never cursed. Really. He prided himself on it, no matter what happened an obscenity would never pass his lips.

Nick was killed by a misplaced artillery round on April 22, 1969 while assaulting up a hill somewhere near Fire Base Bastogne. He is remembered and missed by many.
