I still remember all the times we shared growing up together, playing football, hanging out, and talking trying to figure out this thing called life. Then before we knew it we had to grow up way too soon. I went to the Army and you to the Marines. I can still feel the void in my life just the same as when I first got the news that you were a casualty and gone forever. We were always more like brothers than friends, and when you died a part of me died with you. Although you have been gone for 37 years, which is longer than you lived, I still remember you as if it were yesterday. I always salute you and thank you for your sacrifice, especially on Veterans Day and Memorial Day as we enjoy the freedom made possible by you and so many others who gave all. You are missed, but will always live on within a part of me. Semper Fi, Marine!!
