Bobby, you were our childhood playmate as well as our cousin. Your smile was like the sunlight in our lives. You were with us a short period of time but we will never forget the happiness you gave to our life. You live on in our hearts and memories. We will always love you.
This is a song that Gary Puckett & The Union Gap released probably in the '70's. The first time I remember hearing it was when I bought the cassette of their "Greatest Hits". I was driving home from my daughter's and had it playing in the tape deck, it was so moving I had to play this song over and over - it reminded me so much of Bobby.
HOMEAnd every night they lie awakeAnd dream of mama's chocolate cake, And wonder if they'll be a tomorrow And will they ever see Their home and their family, Or will they ever be back HOME.
And boys who never learned to pray,
And every day some young man dies
