We were high school buddies, and although Bobby was younger than I, he always seemed older, more mature, and wiser than I. Maybe it was that Olds "98" he drove, or the fact that he seemed so content with his life, quietly confident, or that he never had an adolescent bad word to say about others? He even wrote me from RVN and told me to stay in college. Bobby was dead two years when I got to RVN in 1970 but his example helped guide me through some rough spots in my tour.

Bobby, my brother, I hope we'll meet again on the other side.
