Freddy was my uncle. I never had the pleasure to have known him, but I couldn't be more proud of the dedication and commitment that he showed by giving his life for our country.
Fred was the 5th of 14 children, and he didn't get the chance to see how wonderful his family has turned out to be, but he will always be in our hearts. Each Memorial Day we do our best to honor his memory, but we'll never be able to make up for our loss. Fred was destined for greatness, but his life was cut short. He was loved by all. It's been almost 40 years since his death, and there are still tears of sadness that are shed when his name is spoken. He died almost 7 years before my birth, but he is still my uncle. I never met him, but I will always remember him.
Thank you to all that have fought for our country, and for those who continue to fight for our freedom.
died in the fighting in the Ia Drang Valley November 1965.
