"If you are able
Major Michael O'Donnell's poem, sent to his friend Marcus Sullivan I didn't know Jerry, but I would have liked to. Last year in my junior year English class we studied Vietnam literature. To make the unit more personal my teacher gave each of us the name of a man killed in Vietnam. He asked us to carry the name around with us, and find out as much about our Veteran as we could. It just so happened that "my" veteran happened to have the same last name as me, which made my connection to him even stronger. I spent lots of time on the internet trying to get to know this amazing young man, but wasn't too succesful in my search. All I know is the few bits of information I found on the VVMF website which isn't much more than his hometown and branch of service. I still carry his name with me, and I even got a rubbing from the Wall when I went to D.C. last summer. I want to be able to tell the world all about him, so if you know ANYTHING that could help I beg you from the bottom of my heart to contact me. I didn't know Jerry, but I'd really like to.
