John was only in Vietnam for less than 10 days before his death. He arrived 3 days after his 19th Birthday. Feb. 27,1968 until March 8, 1968 when he was killed in an accidental explosion of some kind. Semper Fi. R.I.P. Marine

A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 2nd Bn, 3rd Marines' operations log reports that Pfc Hogan was killed by an accidental rifle discharge while his platoon was operating in "Elephant Valley" about 10 kilometers west-northwest of the Hai Van Bridge.
