Bob was trained at Fort Knox school of Armor.
His knowledge of armored personal carriers
was welcome in the mechanized infantry.
He was the driver of the 34 track and always kept it in good shape.
While headed south on Highway 1 in the village of Mui Can,
the Recon platoon came under fire from ambush.
Bob died from a hail of small arms fire,
while the 34 track was hit by an RPG.
He is thought of often.
