He was the only son of Harold J. Jones and Rachel G. Jones from Del City, Oklahoma. He was the loving brother of Carolyn, Sharon, Ella and Debbie. "He will be loved and remembered always."

A Note from The Virtual WallThe 3/1 Command Chronology for May 1969 contains the following entry:"081100H - Platoon from Lima Company received RPG rounds and automatic [weapons] fire from treeline resulting in 5 USMC WIA."As far as is known, Lance Corporal Jones was the only one of the five wounded men to die from his injuries. |
