The database page for Alva Ray Krogman
I never knew Alva. I have worn his MIA/POW bracelet for 12 years now though and will continue to wear it until he is returned home where he belongs. |
I have been wearing Ray's (Alva's) bracelet for 15 years. I got it when I was 14. I have contacted Ray's brother, and even though the family has accepted that Ray was a casualty, tears were shed. Never forget those who were lost, and hope that those lost who are still alive will be brought home.

I am looking for Ray's brother Roy.

A Note from The Virtual Wall1st Lt Alva R. Krogman was a graduate of the Air Force Academy (the photo is from his Academy days) assigned to the 23rd Tactical Air Support Squadron, flying as a Forward Air Controller over Laos. On 17 January 1967, Krogman was flying an O-1F Birddog (tail number 57-2789) on a NAIL FAC mission controlling air strikes against a gun site near Ban Muang Angkhan west of the DMZ. His aircraft was hit by 37mm antiaircraft fire and crashed a few miles away near Ban Loumpoum. There was no evidence that 1st Lt Krogman survived the crash. His remains have not been repatriated. |
The point-of-contact for this memorial is one who wears his MIA bracelet. breangwen@hotmail.com |
