A Note from The Virtual Wall

In late afternoon of 02 April 1970 Delta Company 4-3 Infantry was preparing its night defensive position about 8 kilometers east-southeast of the Minh Long airfield. At 1755 (5:55 pm) a large mine was detonated, killing 9 men - 7 US, 2 ARVN - and wounding a number of others. One US soldier died from his injuries, raising the toll to eight US soldiers:
