Marine PFC Michael L. Kidd was killed in action in Vietnam on May 3, 1968. Michael received fragmentation wounds from an explosive while on patrol at Phu Loc.

He had been in Vietnam for five months and had seen earlier action at Da Nang and Hue. A graduate of North Carroll High School, Kidd enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 1967 and was trained at Parris Island, S. C., Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton, Calif.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Kidd, lived on Grave Run Road, Millers, MD.

Michael was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Freeland, MD.
