For his Aunt, Ruth Riney of Merkel, Texas who lost her son, Delma Lee Reed, USMC, and her nephew, Robert E. Lackey, US Army, in South Vietnam.

Robert was raised in Trent, Texas and is buried there next to his parents.

I've known their aunt and uncle, Robert and June Reynolds of Odessa, Texas, for my entire life.

The photo below is of his basic training platoon and was taken 10 Nov 1966 at Fort Ord. Robert is the first on the left, second row - the man with the red hair and BIG smile.
