James Landrum was born in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, and split time between there and Seminole, Texas, where he attended schools in both places. James was killed in action on July 29, 1969 while serving as a military policeman with the 23rd Military Police Company. He was married. He is honored by the Gaines County Vietnam Memorial in Seminole, Texas, and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans Memorial located at the Midland International Airport, Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice never be forgotten.
