David served with me in the Fire Direction Center.
He was a good soldier and a good man.
He did his job and I could count on him.
I shall miss him.

I attended the same high school with David and we attended many of the same classes. David was a very popular and talented guy. He was good at all sports and he was a great artist ... he could draw anything.

He was a very humble person and a great friend. It was a shock when I read in our paper that he had been killed in Viet Nam. I was already back from Viet Nam having served at Can Tho from 1967-68, and just couldn't believe that Dave was gone. We had lost contact and I thought he was in college pursuing the arts.

RIP David.....
He is up there drawing the clouds and glorious skies that we see every day.
