The townspeople of Somerville, Massachusetts, will be dedicating a square in Thomas Latanowich's memory this fall ... he is not forgotten.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

When Pfc Daniel Latanowich arrived in Vietnam on 03 April 1968 he was assigned to 81mm Mortars, H&S Company, 2nd Bn, 1st Marines, but on 28 April 1968 he was transferred to the 2nd Combined Action Group. After completing CAG training he was assigned to Combined Action Platoon 2-5-1.

At 1745 (5:45 pm) on 20 June 1968 he suffered severe injuries when he was thrown from a vehicle in which he was riding. Pfc Latanowich died an hour later at the Naval Station Hospital, Danang.
