There were four men who were struck by a booby trap while on patrol. One man entered the service when his National Guard Brigade was mobilized and the other three men had been drafted into the service. The four men killed, all from D Company, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division were:

CPL John Edward Lorence was survived by his wife Kristine, mother, Betty Lois Albaugh (1924-2001), and father, Frank Lawrence Jr (1919-2008) and other family members.They are buried in Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua, Portage County, Ohio, United States of America
