Dear Eugene, Thank you for sacrificing your life for the good of mankind. You were a brave soul and I send the best of my regards to your family. I pray that God has a guiding arm around our shoulders so that one day in heaven we can meet and you can share with me all the wisdom you have obtained thus far. You will always be in my heart.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

Detachment B-52, 5th SF Group, was organized in June 1965 to provide command and control for Project Delta, a special reconnaissance unit originally formed as Project Leaping Lena. In 1966 Project Delta consisted of a hundred or so US Army Special Forces personnel, an ARVN Special Forces (VNSF) Training Command headquarters, a VNSF Airborne Ranger Battalion, and a CIDG company. Project Delta conducted a variety of intelligence-gathering and operational missions within South Vietnam as well as across the borders of Cambodia and Laos.

Sergeant Moreau was the senior advisor to Recon Team 2 when he was killed in action about 19 kilometers east of Det A-322 at Prek Klok, Tay Ninh Province. The following photos are the property of Sergeant Major Norman A. Doney, US Army (Ret), who served with Sgt Moreau. They are taken from the Project Delta web site and are used with Sergeant Major Doney's permission.
