You are gone but not forgotten.
His tears still fall for the loss of you.

Greg,

I grew up in Simi Valley and although I did not know you, I want you to know that your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Thank you for your service to our nation, and thank you for being a true patriot.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 19 April 1967, Charlie 1/9 was under the operational control of the 1st Bn, 4th Marines, conducting local security operations around the Dong Ha Combat Base. Part of those operations included night ambushes, and on the evening of 19 April a squad from Charlie 1/9 set out to man an ambush position. The 1/4 Situation Report for 19 April contains the following entry:

Pfc Gregory Martin was the Marine killed in the firefight between the two ambush patrols.
