A Note from The Virtual WallFour crewmen and one passenger were killed when a UH-1H (tail number 68-15631) of the 120th Aviation Company went down in the Saigon River in Gia Dinh Province. The aircraft was the "chase plane" in a flight of three carrying MACV VIPs from Saigon to the Thu Duc Corps Training Center. On arrival at 1410 the two VIP aircraft landed while the chase plane was instructed to remain airborne. While awaiting the two primary aircraft, 68-15631 was sighted flying at about 200 feet down the Saigon River. It impacted high-tension cables and broke up in flight, with the cabin section sinking in 60 feet of water. The five men were
