I was in college with Tommy in the middle 1960's. We both were members of East Carolina University baseball team back then. He was an outstanding pitcher on the team and was a very special person. Tommy had qualities that we all try to emulate. High morals, strong direction as to what is right and wrong in life. I am very proud to say I knew him and know his family is extremely proud of him for his service to his country. Rest in peace, Tommy, and be assured your family and friends will always keep your memory alive. In that way, you are still with us.

The Mission

Captains James Cameron and Thomas Norman were passengers in an O-2 aircraft returning from Saigon to Nha Trang when the aircraft was shot down by enemy fire. Both men died in the crash, together with the pilot, Major Mannifred Yates, USAF.
