I knew James forever. We were born about the same time and were in the same nursery at the hospital. We went to grade school and high school together and shared many good times. He always stood up for me and was a loyal friend. He loved racing cars and I was in his pit crew. When he came home I helped carry him to his final resting place.

March 11, 1968, was a tough day for the 3/21st Inf. I know James was with good men when he died. I only wish I could have been there too. Maybe I could have done something for James in his time of need. He shall always be remembered.

A memorial initiated by a friend,
