James Edward Oxley was a Winslow, Arizona native. He spent many years at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas. He is buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. He is remembered on the Big Spring Vietnam Memorial and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice not be forgotten.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

Major James Oxley and Captain W. E. Estabrooks were flying a close air support mission in B-57B tail number 53-3859 when they were shot down about 15 miles southwest of Tan Son Nhut Air Base. Both men ejected from the Canberra but Major Oxley did not survive.
