This has been a long time coming but the Moving Wall is in St. Louis this weekend and figured maybe I could find out more on the web and found your website. My name is Scott Zlatic from St. Louis, and I was the last one to speak to David before he was killed. I was also wounded at the time, and another Marine, Terry Lovett, was also killed. We were just out of Khe Sanh setting up for an ambush and we were talking and the next thing we know there was a loud explosion. We found out later that they believe it was a booby trap. I had some pictures of David and Terry over there but our house was flooded in 1993 and they all got ruined. I was in Boston back in 1983 and looked in the phone book but just couldn't bring myself to call anyone at that time, but family members are welcome to contact me if they wish.

David and I hung out together a few times, we both lived in Hudson Massachusetts and it was a very small town. We both knew we were going to be Marines and we were going to fight in Vietnam. I joined first in Feb of 66 and David was all eyes and ears when I came home from MCRD Parris Island to find out everything about becoming a Marine. I was in Vietnam on my second of four tours when he was KIA and I did not get the news for weeks. I am PROUD to have known him. Semper Fidelis
