Habersham County is located in the northeastern corner of Georgia, with the villages of Cornelia, Demorest, and Clarkesville strung like pearls along US Highway 441. Small now, in the 1960's it was almost isolated, linked to the outside world only by a couple of two-lane state highways.

Never the less, seven of our young men died in Vietnam.

All of them served honorably. One of them was awarded the Medal of Honor.

Their deaths had a major impact on our small and closely-knit community.

The purpose of this memorial, from a classmate of some and a friend of all, is to remind us that they once were among us in the flesh, and now walk among us only in the memories of those who remember them.
