The official Army Casualty Report states: Individual died from burns received while in an ammunition bunker when the bunker exploded.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his father Alphonso S, Pittsburg. He was not married and had no children. He is buried at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
