A Note from The Virtual Wall

Very little is known about Captain Pierce's loss. An intelligence officer assigned to the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, he apparently was detached for duty with Special Forces Detachment B-31 in late December 1965. He was killed near Xuan Loc while flying as an observer in an O-1 Birddog aircraft, but there is no known O-1 aircraft loss on 13 March 1966.
