I love you. I miss you. I think about you every day. You were one of the greatest losses of my life. I am glad that everyone can now see a picture of you, but they will never know what a wonderful person you were. I will love you always.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 20 May 1970 elements of the 5th Infantry were operating within Cambodia as part of the effort to destroy the NVA/VC's across-the-border infrastructure. At about 10 AM "A" Company, 1/5 Infantry, came under fire while southeast of Dar. The firefight lasted for about 45 minutes, ending when the enemy broke contact. Five men were wounded and two killed in the action: SGT Kenneth S. Vore of Casstown, Ohio, and CPL Craig Rathbun.
