A Note from The Virtual Wall

Five crewmen were killed and one survived when a B-52D (tail number 56-0677) of the 307th Strategic Bomb Wing was struck by lightning after taking off from U-Tapao RTAFB on a combat mission. The lightning strike knocked out most of the aircraft's instruments and started a fire in the port wing. The five dead were
  • MAJ James E. Hudelson, Roseburg, OR
  • CPT Ronald A. Ashe, Ansonia, CT
  • CPT David J. Price, Marion, OH
  • CPT Thomas W. Reasor, Evansville, IN
  • CPT Josep L. Ruzicka, North Augusta, SC
Regretably, crew and MOS assignments are not available, and for that reason it is not possible to display Captain Reasor's flight rating badge.
