REMEMBERING BUDDY

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 18 March 1968 elements of the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry, were engaged in very heavy fighting in Binh Duong Province. B Company, 3/187th Infantry, had two casualties - Sergeant Smith and PFC Larry D. Sain of Cherryville, NC - but eleven other men of the Battalion died that day. Company A lost one man, and Company D was especially hard hit by the loss of ten paratroopers.
