01 Mar 2002 Crawford Snow was killed in Quang Ngai Province, 14 May 1967. I was his medic. Also, Snow (as I called him) was a very good friend of mine. Crawford was an American Indian, Southern Paiute from St. George, Utah, to be exact. I read on a virtual wall that he was a Caucasian, he was one hundred percent Native American! A Note from The Virtual Wall Eight men with A Company, 1/327th Infantry, were killed in action on 14 May 1967. Six were members of A Company; two were attached from other units: SSG Elton Le Bouef, Vinton, LA (Arty FO from HHB, 2/320 Arty) SGT Jerry A. Norris, Coral Gables, FL CPL Benito R. Gonzalez, Bishop, TX CPL Michael J. Bost, Grand Rapids, MI (42nd Inf Plt (Scout Dog)) SP4 Charles E. Halford, Latham, IL SP4 Pat E. Phillips, Sylmar, CA CPL Crawford Snow, St George, UT PFC Michael E. Peterson, Monrovia, CA Regretably, we cannot "fix this"; Corporal Snow is (incorrectly) carried in the Army's records as of Caucasian descent. What we are proud to do is to provide his comrade-in-arms an opportunity to set the record straight, if only on this one site. Corporal Crawford Snow rests in the Shivwits Indian Cemetery, Washington County, Utah.
