16 Jan 1999 A great loss! I was in country when Ronnie died. I knew him from college wrestling through his friends Kumpf and Schroeder. I was up north and not involved with the Cambodian push. 19 Dec 2000 This is for you, my friend: RONALD RAY SAGERS, SSG I still miss you and your caring for the world, Ron. You were a guiding light for the short time I knew you in college. We attended the University of Dubuque together for two years, before you were taken from us in a country we weren't even in, Cambodia. What a shame to lose someone that worked so hard to get through school to make a difference, in our world, only to be wasted like so many others. Hartl, Chicago, IL While the DoD casualty database is coded to indicate that Staff Sergeant Sagers died from fragmentation wounds, Mr. Henderson states that he was killed by gunshot - and he was there.
