In memory of Frederick A. Slemp who gave his life in service to his country February 24, 1966 Quang Nam, South Viet Nam. Thank you for giving the last full measure of devotion for the country you loved and the standards you so valiantly lived by. You will always be my hero. The memories you left our family will live in our hearts forever. Rest in peace until we shall all see each other again in our eternal home.

It's been almost 41 years since you died with honor serving your country. I salute you. You were a Senior Chief, a CWO4 and a LT. The only man in US Naval History to be all three. I have your medals that your son Dave passed on to me. I also have your boot camp picture. You are who I look up to in hard times. I know you look down from heaven on me and keep me safe. I wish I could've met you.
