You were assigned to the mortar platoon of Company D, 2/12th Cavalry. With a mortar baseplate on your back, you bent over the Rao Trach riverbank to fill your canteen. The mountain river was flowing swiftly and treacherously. When you slipped in and went under Eddie Terry, without hesitation, dived in after you.

Neither one of you resurfaced.

Four days later Terry was recovered two kilometers downstream but you are still missing.

In 2000, Eddie Pine, a D Company Platoon Leader, went back to Vietnam and met with an officer of the JTF-FA search team to discuss your case. They found there were minor differences in the coordinates of the incident so your file was reopened and a team was going to revisit the site. Hopefully your remains can be recovered.

From a fellow soldier who helped to recover Eddie Terry,
Charlie Bader
